Cabinet

The party which forms Government may elect, or the Premier can appoint, a number of its members to be Ministers. Ministers are then allocated responsibility for specific areas of government administration, known as portfolios. Ministers oversee the administration of their departments and are accountable to Parliament for their departments' actions. In Victoria, all Ministers are also members of Cabinet.

Members of the Legislative Assembly

The Legislative Assembly is the Lower House of the Parliament of Victoria.

Members of the Legislative Council

The Legislative Council is the Upper House of the Victorian Parliament.

Parliamentary Committees

Committees are formed of members from one house or both houses. Committees hold inquiries into particular issues and call for input from the wider community.
